“Mud Metamorphoses Projects” are interdisciplinary site-specific projects by artist Hsu Yi Ting, based on riverine landscapes at Taiwan’s Tamsui River and Germany’s Elbe River. Growing up by the riverside, Hsu sees mud as a medium for creating liminal spaces, positioned between liquid and solid, floating and settling, transformation and resistance, serving as a tool for negotiating mechanisms.
Elbe River - Landscape of the Harbour in Hamburg in Germany about global trading with East Asia.
Tamsui River - Landscape of the old Harbour in Taipei about postcolonialism in Taiwan.
